So…

Miss Jones (one half of LeraJones) tells me over the phone that she has something for me… I jump (literally) at the opportunity of being her company. Not because she is hot (of course), however at the thought of getting my hands on an advanced copy of LeraJones’ first foray into the highly competitive and saturated House Compilation industry. The question is will they make it or will it be just one of those albums that will stay on the shelves. Let’s look into the Le Femme Sounds Volume 1.

I guess the first thing that one will notice about the CD is that is has 2 beautiful girls on the cover and not some guy (1 Point to LeraJones). Secondly it’s not mixed; it’s a selection of locally produced tracks. That means that DJs will have easy accessibility to local house music, without having to sell their souls to the devil (1 Point to LeraJones). Lastly, the most important aspect of the album… The Music. It’s on point. It’s a very soulful album. Most of the 13 tracks on the album have very beautiful vocals on it. It’s one that will have you signing along whether you are cleaning the stoop or driving to your favorite liquor merchant or having a picnic (98 Points to LeraJones). Music for every occasion. There’s even a song (Izindabeni feat. Asanda) that got a treatment from Abicah Soul (although, the original is too good).
LeraJones have done a great service, by ensuring that the music on the album gets showcased and that we get to recognize some of the talented producers in the county. We’re definitely on the right track. We are on a world standard and the music on this album will clearly show that.

Considering that the album is being released independently, the girls could do with the support. Please go and get yourself a copy. You won’t regret it.
